What a cool vibe in here! I posted up at the bar Tuesday night to get some dinner after a stellar 90 minute massage. Chris was very welcoming and attentive to ensure my experience was great there. Everything on the menu looked great but I went big and tried their 4 hour Smoked Prime Rib that came with mash taters and broccoli. It wasn’t the most tender Prime Rib I’ve ever had but wasn’t mediocre either. It was somewhere in the middle. The PR def had a smoky flavor to it and that accompanying horse radish sauce was amazing. I was in the mood for for sweet potato fries so I added that as well. Not sure I’ll have the opp to head back to try their other menu items but I can chalk up that I tried Bootleggers. Parking is limited in front but there is a lot about a 1/4 mile down where you park easily.

Bootleggers is both a local favorite and a tourist hot spot. This fantastic, rustic, yet modern venue boasts a flavorful menu. I’m not kidding when I say flavorful. Iv had my fair share of bbq, but these menu items almost left a Smokey taste in your mouth. We ordered a pulled pork item, and a turkey melt with kettle chips. Food came out fast, and the service was courteous. We loved having Lisa as our server. It makes sense that this place was featured on “Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives” on the Food Network. Thanks to a long time friend from the Phoenix area, otherwise we would have missed it.

Excellent restaurant for drinks or dinner. We have enjoyed dining at two different locations and had great service and food in both places. The atmosphere is vibrant and our server was personable and took great care of us. We had the special prime rib and it was one of the largest cuts I have ever had. It is a great location in Scottsdale to walk around and see all the shops and enjoy the sights.

Bootleggers is a real average BBQ joint. The brisket was on the dry side, Mac and cheese was forgettable. The french dip was above average. I was told the baked beans were OK. The prime rib was good not great. Not pictured are the mashed potatoes which were outstanding. We dined on a Sunday night around 5:30. The restaurant was half full, but we had to ask for a server after we had been seated for over 10 minutes. It took just over 50 minutes from order to first bite.

2nd time here in 3 months. I thought I left a 5 star review last time but must have forgotten to hit send. Like last meal, Christopher was bartender and server. Besides the food being delicious he made the rating a solid 5 stars. Personable and courteous. Top notch. This establishment is lucky to have him.
